Levels of editing that have been built into journalism for a century get thrown out the window.

The goal becomes immediacy, and accuracy become less important. I think that's because Twitter isn't a "newspaper of record." In 20 years, no one is going to be looking at Twitter for information about the past.

But reporters and journalists are stuck in the mentality that everything they write will have the critical eye of history glaring down at it. They are attached to their words in a way that the so-called digital natives aren't.

Re: Using music in multimedia pieces

Nice post. You've really got good points here. I completely agree with you: The gist is this: Make sure you the music you choose is good. Otherwise, don’t use it. Then, learn to cut and shape the music to fit with your piece so that it becomes more than mere accompaniment. Music is really important - be it in a program, a show or anything; it requires passion, dedication and commitment to make the right choice, the perfect blend and the best strategy. Thus, multimedia, in any form, are perfect tools in making these things happen. As a music studio manager, I am interested in learning more about producing some multimedia pieces as I always keep on providing my music teachers as well as my dear clients, the students, the kind of improvement and satisfaction they need; so, I always look for the latest and the most reliable studio management tips to help me meet my goals and achieve excellence. Thanks again and more power. Til your next posts.

Re: Wag of the Digital Finger

I should note that there were two more errors in this article that I didn't catch when talking about it in this entry. You can see one of the errors in the screen image above. The word "vertebrae" is misspelled in the caption's text.

Re: Consider the journalism on Twitter, not whether Twitter is journalism

BBC news people and other established news figures as quoted in Alf's article only seem comfortable when talking about twitter as a tool, something they can use. To get them to engage with Twitter as a mass medium or journalism-in- the- raw appears to be too uncomfortabel for them. Do they choose cynicism and disdain instead because they feel threatened ?

Re: Stray comma

A second comment to see how things look.

Re: Stray comma

This is another test comment to make sure it works.
